Chai

This comforting drink is filled with spices that add to our digestive fire and warm us in the cold season. Adding milk to Chai gives this tea a heaviness to keep us grounded.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cardamom seeds

  • 2 cloves

  • 2 black peppercorns

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1" piece fresh ginger, sliced

  • 1 cup milk (of choice)

  • 1 black tea bag

  • honey to taste

  • grated nutmeg

Directions:

Put all the tea spices into each mug and mix with a little hot water to make a paste. Separately warm your milk in a pan. When hot, froth your milk using a hand whisk. Add the milk to the spice paste and sprinkle with cinnamon and grated nutmeg.
